Living Skeleton

Halloween is a festival celebrated on 31st of October. This festival is celebrated on a large scale with great enthusiasm and spirits. This festival is observed as a holiday in many countries while in United States it is a routine day and the celebrations are made in the evening time. This festival fascinates the kids as they get more excited about the spooky costumes, masks and other accessories which highlight this festival. The costumes of this festival are majorly in the form of skeletons and so people who wear them are also referred as living skeletons.

The name Halloween is derived from the Swedish word, Hallow - eve which means the great evening of Halloween. It is believed that on this day, the boundaries between heaven and hell collide and so the evil powers try to attack the planet earth. The attack is generally in the form of destruction of crops and other natural calamities. This festival is well known for its unique tradition called Trick or treat where a confectionery question is asked and if the person is not able to answer that question, he has to treat the children.

This festival is also known as Beggar's Night as the children roam door to door asking for gifts and chocolates. There are several movies made on this festival which include Ghostbusters, Psycho, The Witches of Eastwick, Resident Evil, Adam's family and Something Else.

The popular costumes worn on this day include Lil Pumpkin pie, costumes in the shape of elephants, spider tootsie, penguin, giraffe, lamb and elephant.

Living skeleton is a type of costume which is black in color and it has pictures of bones painted on it.
