Chocolate Halloween cupcakes

  • Chocolate wafers
  • Large chocolate chips
  • 8 table spoons unsweetened chocolate
  • 9 table spoons all purpose flour
  • 3/4 table spoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate syrup
  • 2 table spoons butter

Instructions: For cupcake:

  • Melt chocolate carefully in a double boiler and set aside to cool.
  • Pre-heat the oven to 350 °F and Grease your muffin tins or place a paper cup.
  • Sift the all purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar into a medium-sized bowl
  • Whisk sour cream, oil, and eggs in a large bowl; whisk in the chocolate.
  • Add the dry ingredients and whisk until there are no lumps.
  • Pour the batter into the cupcake tray.
  • Bake in the middle rack about 20 minutes (if a tooth pick inserted into the cupcake comes out clean, your cupcake is ready)
  • Now take them out and let them cool in the tray.
  • Remove them and let them cool completely.

For icing:

  • Melt the butter in a sauce pan.
  • Add 1 cup chocolate syrup and mix well.
  • Turn off the stove and mix till it cools
  • Add whipped cream and whisk briefly.
  • On the cooled cupcakes, add your icing and decorate with wafers and chocolate chips
  • This is a basis cupcake recipe, now for some variants:
  • For a colorful Halloween cupcake array:
  • Add yellow or orange color and 1 cup sugar to the icing instead of chocolate syrup.
  • For graveyard Halloween cupcake:
  • Add black coloring and 1 cup sugar to the icing instead of chocolate syrup.
Apple Butter Halloween Cupcakes

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • Whipped cream

Instructions: For cupcake

  • In a mixing bowl sift flour, baking powder, soda, and salt; set aside.
  • In another medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk margarine or butter with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds.
  • Add sugar; whisk until fluffy.
  • Add egg; whisk well.
  • Whisk in apple butter and vanilla.
  • Boil milk and stir yogurt into milk (mixture will curdle).
  • Add milk mixture and flour mixture alternately to apple butter mixture, simultaneously whisking on low to medium speed after each addition.
  • Stop after they've mixed
  • Pre-heat the oven to 350 °F.
  • Grease muffin cups or line with paper cups.
  • Fill 2/3rd full.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes (a tooth pick inserted into the center should come out clean).
  • Cool on wire racks.

For frosting:

  • Melt butter in a sauce pan and add brown sugar.
  • Remove from stove and stir till cool.
  • Add whipped cream and whisk briefly.
